Today my featured artist in Day 4 of this blogalong series is Julia Jeffrey.
Julia Jeffrey is a Scottish artist and illustrator. She studied painting at The Glasgow School of Art. Her faery and fantasy-themed work, of recent years, has attracted considerable acclaim and attention, with features in numerous international fantasy magazines. Her work appears on and in, many books and albums, and her first tarot deck, The Tarot of the Hidden Realm, was published in 2013.
The Tarot of the Hidden Realms was my first choice when selecting a new tarot deck, my first in 2 decades. I had received an insightful one card reading from a tarot reader who drew The Hermit which so happens to be my 2014 year card. It has definitely proven to be a year of self discovery, self teaching and going within to harness my intuition. Julia's art is so fantastic, powerful and evocative I could not resist the art in this tarot deck. Barbara Moore who wrote the accompanying tarot guide is a marvellous writer. Each card interpreted in a story telling manner which garners all my attention - and is beautiful read aloud to my creative 8 year old who is presently reading The Last Wild Witch by Starhawk to me out loud.
