We are just a few days away from the start of my free email class Spectacular Self Care. With that in mind, I put a call out to my online tribes to ask them what they do for self care. I'm thrilled to share their wisdom with you today. Please visit their websites by clicking their name, and leave a comment on their blog. With gratitude, Sharyn.
Renee Vos De Wael, Intuitive Life Coach
I have been searching for a long time even without realising to find a way to incorporate self care to my week. Reading your question about self care I just realised that I have found it. It is what I get back from my work as an equine massage therapist. Going out in nature, being welcome by these beautiful horses and just completely relax. I love my coaching and writing, but it is here where I find answers, reload and truly feel the gratitude. All this as I am working with them and help them to relax and heal. What a magic place, as I say so myself smile.
Ellie Hodges, an emergent life
For me self-care has increasingly become about my approach to moments and what is within me rather than chunks of time doing external things like massages and bubble baths. Self-care is tuning in and nurturing myself. It is the appreciation of my first cup of tea in the morning, it is an uninterrupted song, it is taking in the giggly-laughs of our children, it is in taking deep breaths and dropping into my body so that I respond proactively rather than reactively. Self-care is doing what is important to me, living my values and being supported to do that by the people I surround myself with. It is also escaping out to our back room for alone time regularly. Self-care is a deepening experience for myself and it is critical to my wellbeing.

As a mama to a toddler (& with number 2 on the way), 'me time' is vital for my self care. It doesn't need to be a huge amount of time, as long as I get a little everyday. In fact, my 20 minute morning commute does quite nicely. As for what I do during that time - I trust what my intuition tells me. Sometimes it's listening to a podcast. Sometimes it's reading a book. Sometimes it's just closing my eyes and letting my mind wander. The important thing is it is time for me with no pressure, no expectations and no one screaming 'mama' at the top of their lungs!
Natalie Chiko, The Tea Cake Company
Having a therapeutic massage is my occasional way of caring for myself both body and mind. On a daily basis a nicely brewed cup of tea is my little zen moment in the day and I always make sure I find space and time to enjoy it.

For me, its taking the time to get out of the office and go for a walk. Just being out in nature soothes my soul & gets rid of most stress. If that doesn't work - retail therapy! The total opposite of the nature spectrum ha ha.
Sandra Muller, Heading for the Hills
I've been doing a 30 Day Walking Challenge where I get outdoors for at least 30 minutes every day. It really helps me to clear the mental cobwebs and I find I'm getting a lot of inspiration and rediscovering my creativity when I take time out for a walk. In terms of hands on physical care I see my osteopath about once a month to iron out any niggles I get from being so desk bound during my working day.

I swim. It's the only type of exercise that makes sense for me. I do squad three times a week. It's purposeful, my progress is measured by my personal bests, and I feel like it's a productive use of my time. Probably not as relaxing as some other self care, but it fires me up and makes me feel powerful!
Kylie Weir, Love Soul Connect
I start my day early at 6 am with lemon in water and then a healthy alkaline shake, and then I exercise first! Get plenty of sunshine and eat an alkaline diet. I get into bed before 10 pm and read something inspiring! I recently started a little vege garden which I'm enjoying nurturing and gives me an excuse to grab some sunshine during the day! Can't wait for harvest.
Debra Dane, Inner Compass Designs
I practice self care by tuning in to listen to what I need (mind, body and soul) and then heeding the call. Sometimes it is a 5 minute pause to my day and other times my soul says, "take me to the beach for the day" - all good!
Aerlie Wildly, Productivity & Life Coach
Music is a good one for me, and colouring in (to music!) is a lovely one I do. Taking some deep breaths in the shower, is a fave, but also just planning downtime after a busy period - without the guilt, so that I can recharge and refocus.
Nicki McKay, Creative Web Designer & Co-Founder of ROOOAR Magazine
Self care to me is so many things. The main thing is being able to say NO. No to things that I really don't want to do, or things that will put extra pressure on me and will over extend me. The other self care element is getting away from the computer whether it be taking the dog for a run, reading a book in bed or getting my hands dirty in my garden. Self care is really about making me a priority.

When I need some alone time and time away from my work, I seriously take 3 hour bubble baths and light candles, drink wine and watch girly movies in the tub. It's the freaking best.
Sarah-Jane Meeson, Empowering Her Business
Self care for me: in bed before 9.30. Good food. Only focusing on one thing at a time and making sure I do some kind of exercise once a day. I'm a introvert so isolation away from humans for a couple of hours each week makes a huge difference to my moods.
Carol Hampshire, Red Hot Designs
I have created a little zen garden just outside my office where I take breakes, listen to the birds, eat lunch and just be in nature.
Natasha Vanzetti, Discovery Coach
Sunrise run with my dog. It's my happy place and the perfect way to start my day.
Brandi Marshall Straka
Alone time with music, is my most favourite self care.
